Best HubSpot Alternative

OpenLazarus as a HubSpot alternative: CRM and AI teammates you own

One system with a CRM, mail and AI teammates that each have an inbox and phone number. Strong where the work between deals is the bottleneck; thinner on telephony and published sales case studies.

OpenLazarus is a company-owned operating system with AI teammates. For a team leaving HubSpot, its proposition is to replace the per-seat CRM with one system that also runs mail, operations and the follow-up work itself1.

Best for: Companies that want the CRM, the outreach and the AI teammates doing sales follow-up in one system they own, without paying per seat.

Not the right fit for: Phone-heavy inside sales teams that need a power dialer today, or teams that want a conventional CRM with no change to how they work.

What OpenLazarus does for a sales team

Its builder designs a CRM with contacts, companies and deals, alongside mail, calendar, messages, meetings, tasks, invoicing and reports, from a description of how the company works1. AI teammates work inside it on the same records as staff, each with an inbox, a phone number and limits the company sets2. The agent library lists a Sales Development Rep that qualifies new leads and books first calls, and an Account Manager that checks in with customers and prepares renewals2.

Its sales agent page describes moving deals between stages on signals such as a sent proposal, flagging deals with no reply after five days, and drafting follow-ups from templates on a daily schedule3. Per teammate, the company decides what it handles alone and what it asks first, and every action is logged where staff can read it4. Hosting is managed and can be moved to the company's own cloud5.

The figures on its teammate cards, such as leads qualified overnight, are not attributed to a named customer. OpenLazarus publishes no sales-team case study.

Published evidence

No case studies with named customers are published.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • One system replaces several subscriptions: CRM, mail, calendar, meetings, tasks, operations, invoicing and reports.
  • AI teammates act on records: the Sales Development Rep qualifies leads and books first calls; the Account Manager prepares renewals and flags accounts whose usage dropped.
  • Priced per plan, not per seat, for teams under 30 people, with managed hosting that can be moved to the company’s own cloud.
  • Per-teammate limits decide what an AI handles alone and what it asks a person first, and every action is logged.

Limits

  • The results shown on its teammate cards are not attributed to a named customer, and no sales-team case study is published.
  • Its migration route from HubSpot is a CSV export and upload; moving activity history and custom fields is not described.
  • No power dialer or SMS sequences are described; phone work is through each teammate’s own number.
  • Companies of 30 or more are priced after a session with its engineers, and AI usage is bought as credits with a 5.5% fee.

Choose another option if: Your sellers spend most of the day on the phone (Close), or you want to keep a classic per-seat CRM and add AI later (Pipedrive, Zoho CRM or Attio).

Pricing

Published: plans from $100 a month plus managed hosting from $150 a month for teams under 30; developer support from $4,500 a month; 5.5% fee on AI credits.

Questions to ask OpenLazarus

  • Which sales tasks would a teammate take on first, and what would it need access to?
  • How do we bring HubSpot activity history and custom properties across, beyond a CSV of contacts?
  • What does a month of AI credits cost for our lead volume?
  • Can we pilot one teammate with one sales team before moving everyone?
