Best HubSpot Alternative

HubSpot pricing by seat in 2026, explained

HubSpot's bill is built from seat types, onboarding fees, credits and contact tiers. This is how each part works, what a typical team pays and how the alternatives price instead.

An operations director at an oak table compares a printed software invoice with a list of user seats, using a pen and a calculator.
The seat list is usually where a CRM budget review begins.

HubSpot's price is not one number. A Sales Hub bill combines the tier, the number and type of seats, a one-time onboarding fee on the upper tiers, a monthly allowance of AI credits and, for marketing tools, a contact tier. Understanding each part is the first step in judging whether an alternative would cost less.

The tiers as published

TierPrice per seat a monthRequired onboardingAI credits a month
Free$0, up to 2 users1None listedNot stated
Starter$7 to $201None listed5002
Professional$90 to $1001$1,500, one time13,0002
EnterpriseFrom $1501$3,500, one time15,0002

The pricing page shows two prices for Starter and Professional, one for paying monthly and one for paying annually. HubSpot notes that its discounts apply to new customers only.

Seat types

HubSpot’s product catalog distinguishes four kinds of seat2:

  • Core Seat. Access to the purchased products, the Breeze Assistant and the Smart CRM. $20 a month on Starter, $50 on Professional, $75 on Enterprise.
  • Sales Seat. Everything in a Core Seat plus the full Sales Hub tools for sellers. $100 a month on Professional and $150 on Enterprise; not available on Starter.
  • Service Seat. The same structure for Service Hub, at the same prices.
  • View-Only Seat. Can view but not change anything. No additional cost.

The distinction matters because many people in a company need to see or update the CRM without selling. A finance lead who checks deal values can use a view-only seat; an operations manager who edits records needs at least a Core Seat.

Credits and contacts

AI features and agents in HubSpot run on HubSpot Credits3. Each paid tier includes a monthly allowance, which resets every month and does not roll over; allowances are not added together across products, so a company with several hubs receives the highest one2. Extra credits cost $0.010 each, bought in capacity packs at $10 per 1,000 or on pay-as-you-go2.

Marketing tools add a separate dimension. HubSpot charges for marketing contacts as part of the product fee, while non-marketing contacts are not charged, and monthly email sends are capped at a multiple of the contact tier: 5 times on Starter, 10 on Professional and 20 on Enterprise2.

A worked example

Consider a company with eight sellers, four operations and account staff who edit records, and six managers who only need to look. On Professional at HubSpot's catalog list prices2:

LineCalculationPer year
Sales Seats8 × $100 × 12$9,600
Core Seats4 × $50 × 12$2,400
View-only seats6 × $0$0
Onboarding, year oneOne time$1,500
Year one$13,500

The annual-billing price shown on the pricing page lowers the Sales Seat line1. Credits beyond the 3,000 included each month, and any marketing contact tier, come on top.

Contract terms that affect the total

Two clauses in HubSpot's terms shape what a company actually pays. A subscription renews automatically for the shorter of the previous term or one year, unless auto-renewal is turned off in the account before the current term ends. And a customer may not downgrade during the current term; a downgrade takes effect at renewal through a new order form4. Adding seats mid-term raises the bill; removing them waits for the renewal date.

How the alternatives price instead

ProductPricing modelEntry price as published
FreshsalesPer user, annual$9 a month5
PipedrivePer seat, annual€14 a month6
ClosePer seat, plus calling usage$9 to $19 a month7
Salesforce Sales CloudPer user; annual from Pro Suite$25 a month8
AttioPer seat, plus creditsFree; Plus €31 a month annual9
Dynamics 365 SalesPer user, paid yearly$65 a month10
OpenLazarusPer company plan, plus hostingFrom $100 plus $150 a month, under 30 people11

Most alternatives keep the per-seat model and differ mainly in price and in what each seat includes. OpenLazarus is the exception in this guide: for teams under 30 it prices a plan for the whole company, adds managed hosting and bills AI usage as credits with a 5.5% fee1112.

How to calculate your own number

  1. List every person who touches the CRM and mark whether they sell, edit records or only view.
  2. Assign the cheapest seat type that fits each role, using the seat definitions above.
  3. Add the onboarding fee in year one for Professional or Enterprise.
  4. Estimate AI usage against the monthly credit allowance, remembering that unused credits expire.
  5. Note the renewal date and the last day to turn off auto-renewal.
  6. Price two alternatives the same way, including their trial terms and any add-ons for AI or calling.

With that table in hand, a decision to stay, renegotiate or move rests on numbers rather than impressions. For the ranked alternatives, see our main guide.

Questions buyers ask

How much does HubSpot Sales Hub cost per user?

HubSpot lists Sales Hub Starter from $7 to $20 a seat a month depending on billing and new-customer discounts, Professional from $90 to $100 a seat a month and Enterprise from $150 a seat a month. Professional and Enterprise also require a one-time onboarding fee of $1,500 and $3,500.

What is the difference between a Core Seat and a Sales Seat in HubSpot?

A Core Seat gives access to the purchased products, the Breeze Assistant and the Smart CRM; it costs $20 a month on Starter, $50 on Professional and $75 on Enterprise. A Sales Seat adds the full Sales Hub feature set for sellers and costs $100 a month on Professional and $150 on Enterprise. View-only seats are free.

Do HubSpot credits roll over?

No. Credits reset every month and unused credits do not carry over. Paid Sales Hub tiers include 500, 3,000 or 5,000 credits a month, and extra credits cost $0.010 each, or $10 per 1,000 in capacity packs.
